Two Athens High schools Honored for Advanced Placement Achievements

Cedar Shoals and Clarke Central High Schools have been named Advanced Placement Honor Schools for 2022.

Both schools were recognized as Honor Schools in the AP STEM category for having at least five students test in various science- and math-based AP courses. Cedar Shoals was further honored as an AP Access and Support School due to the numbers of African American and/or Hispanic students taking Advanced Placement tests, as well as for the high marks earned on the exams.

The two Athens schools were among only 239 high schools in Georgia receiving the honor in 2022, which is based on the results of 2021 AP courses and exams.
