The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia is expanding. The Athens-based facility will double its capacity with the construction of a new building. President and CEO Erin Barger has details. The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia currently works with 200 distribution agencies and delivered 13 million pounds of food last year.
Additional services include a mobile pantry, teaching kitchen which is open to the public for classes, and an Instant Quick Freeze, or IQF, line to preserve produce.
