Food Bank expands

The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia is expanding. The Athens-based facility will double its capacity with the construction of a new building. President and CEO Erin Barger has details. The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia currently works with 200 distribution agencies and delivered 13 million pounds of food last year.
Additional services include a mobile pantry, teaching kitchen which is open to the public for classes, and an Instant Quick Freeze, or IQF, line to preserve produce.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
