Top 60 Peabody Award nominees announced

Peabody Awards

A wide array of projects have been included in the top 60 nominees for the Peabody Awards.

Under categories for audio storytelling, entertainment TV and news documentaries, any digitally released content that addresses culturally relevant issues is eligible for an award. Nominated projects cover topics like racial justice, trans rights, food and politics.

Streaming platforms PBS and HBO lead with nominations, at thirteen and eight titles, respectively. Hulu and Netflix follow along with NBC, The New York Times and others.

Among the nominees are Oscar winners like Questlove’s “Summer of Soul” and Emmy winners like HBO’s “Hacks.” The 82nd annual awards show will be released virtually with celebrity announcers and remarks from winners on June 6 through 9.

The Peabody Awards are based at the University of Georgia’s Grady College. A full list of nominees can be found at peabodyawards.com.
