Mayor Kelly Girtz submitted his proposed budget for review Friday. The FY 2023 budget, which starts July 1 of this year and runs through June 2023, totals $166.4 million. That’s 12.1 percent higher than the FY 2022 budget.
The measure includes pay increases for staff and recommends adding 24 new full-time positions.
The proposed budget calls for a millage rate of 13.20. While that would be a half a mil decrease compared to last year, it would still result in an 11% increase in property tax revenue thanks to surging local property values in a red hot real estate market.
