Advanced voting for the May 24th Election continues through Friday at six locations throughout Athens-Clarke County. Voters can cast their ballot at the ACC Elections office, Athens Regional Library, Miriam Moore Community Center, ACC Extension, ACC Tennis Center, and Winterville Train Depot between 11am and 5pm. There will be no advanced voting Monday before the election.
The election features a five-way race for mayor, three contested school board seats, four contested ACC commission races, and primaries for state and federal offices, and a Special Election concerning use of sales tax for transportation purposes. Over two-thirds of Athens-Clarke County voters are in a new commission district for the 2022 election after a controversial redistricting proposal was passed into law earlier this year.
