Athens April 2022 Jobless Rate at Record Low
Athens’ unemployment rate fell to an all-time low in April, according to Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler.
April’s 2% unemployment rate is a record for the city, says Butler, and indicates that Athens has largely recovered from job losses during the height of the covid pandemic.
Unemployment claims in April also reflect Athens’ rosy labor outlook, falling 7% from March 2022. Claims from out-of-work Athenians this April were down by about 89% compared to April of last year.
