College Station Road remains closed to westbound traffic at North Oconee Access Road due to a damaged water main underneath the roadway.
Westbound through traffic is inaccessible past Research Drive to North Oconee Access Road. Riverbend Road and Loop 10 are also inaccessible to westbound traffic. The parking areas at River’s Crossing and the North Oconee Access Road remain open, as well as the North Oconee River Greenway, and Water Reclamation Facility. Alternate routes for these areas would be through the Barnett Shoals Road or Milledge Avenue corridors.
It is not yet known how long the segment will be closed. ACC Gov Transportation and Public Works are expected to determine this week if the damage can be repaired in-house by county staff, or if more extensive repair work by contractors is required. Eastbound lanes remain open to traffic.
