The University of Georgia dedicated its newest residence hall Thursday. Black-Diallo-Miller Hall is named in honor of Harold Black, Mary Diallo and Kerry Miller, the first African American students to enroll as freshmen and complete their undergraduate degrees.
It will house 525 first-year students in double occupancy rooms beginning this fall.
Dr. Michelle Cook is Senior Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion at UGA. She says this year marks a milestone for the honorees.
“This commemorates the 60th anniversary of when they first matriculated at the University of Georgia, in 1962,” Cook said.
