Governor Brian Kemp announced the state of Georgia had a record breaking year for economic development investments and job creation. Kemp said in fy2022, the state saw investments jump by 94 and job creation increased by 53 percent about previous records.
Some 85 percent of those investments were outside the 10-county metro Atlanta area.
Kemp says Georgia recorded $21.2 billion in state-tracked business investments in the year that ended June 30, with the state seeing $8 billion in foreign investment, primarily from five countries: South Korea, Germany, Japan, France, and the Netherlands.
Kemp was joined by Pat Wilson, Commissioner of the Department of Economic Development in making that announcement at the Capitol Wednesday afternoon. Kemp announced 120,000 new jobs and $43 billion in investments since taking office.
