Georgia Ranks Low for Women's Equality

As we observe Women’s Equality Day Friday, a recent study shows while women have made great strides in the U.S., the gender gap in the nation remains. In 2022, the U.S. ranked 27th on the World Economic Forum’s ranking of 146 countries based on gender equality.
Nationally, Georgia comes in near the bottom. New Mexico was the best state for gender equality, while Utah was ranked last. Analysts considered 17 key factors in their effort to compile the list.
Jill Gonzalez is an analyst with the personal finance website WalletHub, which conducted the study.
