ACCPD Investigating Saturday Shootings

Athens police are investigating after three people were shot Saturday. According to a release from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, shortly after 8:30 pm Saturday, police arrived on the scene in the 100 block of Winterberry Lane regarding a shooting. When they arrived, they found two males who had been shot, both of whom sustained serious injuries. They were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Police are also investigating a shooting on Mitchell Bridge Road that happened at approximately 2:30 am Saturday. Officers investigated a call about shots fired in the 1100 block of Mitchell Bridge Road and were notified that a 32-year old male arrived at a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury. Police believe that injury is related to the discharging firearms call on Mitchell Bridge Road. The investigation is ongoing.
