Historic Athens Kicks off One Story Athens Program

Historic Athens begins a new program this week. Organizers say One Story Athens will shine a light on the history of underserved communities in Athens. The initiative is in partnership with the UGA Wilson School and the African American Oral History Initiative at UGA.

The first story is scheduled for Friday, August 9th at noon on the Historic Athens Facebook page.

The organization will provide 8-week long calendars of the featured storytellers.

Historic Athens Executive Director Tommy Valentine says the year-long series will help tell the whole story of Athens.
