Athens-Clarke County is providing two community input opportunities for residents interested in planning for the soon-to-be East Side Public Library and the new Youth and Community Enrichment Facility.

Three public meetings will take place in October to discuss location selection for a new library branch on the eastside of Athens. Residents can drop in at any time during the two-hour sessions to learn more about design plans and suggest potential sites for the library. The first public meeting will take place on Saturday, October 1 from 10:00 AM until noon at Fire Station #7 Community Room at 2350 South Barnett Shoals Road.

10 potential sites have been identified as possible locations for the SPLOST-funded Youth and Community Enrichment Facility, which will host youth development and family education programs. Residents can provide feedback on site selection during a September 27th meeting from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Rocksprings Park & Community Center at 291 Henderson Extension.

Public input for both projects will also be accepted through online surveys at www.accgov.com
