The Athens Area Diaper Bank’s Diaper Drive started Saturday, Sep. 24 and goes through Oct. 2.
According to the Athens Area Diaper Bank, one out three U.S. families struggle with diaper need, and in Athens alone, over 8,000 children are at risk. Founder and Executive Director, Erin Campbell says that their mission is about spreading awareness and getting diapers on babies.
During National Diaper Need Awareness Week, the Diaper Bank will have several diaper drives in the community, and will conclude the week in celebration of their one millionth diaper.
All diaper sizes are accepted for donation, but Campbell says that the Diaper Bank is running low on 3T and 7T diapers.
