Members of the Athens community are invited to attend the unveiling of a solar array. Environment Georgia is hosting the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the presentation of the array which has been donated to the Farm to Neighborhood nonprofit.
The donation comes as a result of last year’s launch of Solarize Athens 2.0 which worked to make solar energy more affordable in the Athens-Clarke County community.
The unveiling is scheduled for Sunday, September 25th at 2 pm in the parking lot of Rashe’s Cuisine. Mayor Kelly is among those expected to attend. The community is invited and the event will feature music and activities for children.
Jennette Gayer is Executive Director of Environment Georgia. She shares more about the event.
