Athens News Matters: Women and the Pandemic Comeback

The pandemic blindsided families by leaving few options for financial advancement, health management, and childcare. And women were far more likely to have to quit their jobs to oversee their children’s at-home schooling and well being. Now, President Biden and the Director-General of the World Health Organization say that the pandemic is nearly over if not already finished - although other public health experts disagree. And unemployment rates have dropped to 3.7% as of August 2022. But have women experienced the same comeback? Here to answer that question is NPR’s Chief Business Editor, Pallavi Gogoi.
