The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia is partnering the Kroger for its annual Stuff The Truck event this afternoon. During the event, food bank volunteers, students, and members of the athletic department will encourage Kroger shoppers at the Epps Bridge Road location to buy food items to fill nearby distribution trucks.

Stuff the Truck is from 4:30 to 7 pm at the Epps Bridge Road Kroger. UGA coaches Mike White, Stefanie Moreno and Scott Strickland will be there, as will Hairy Dawg, Red Coat Band, Spike Squad and UGA football players and cheerleaders.
Kroger is also hosting trucks at the College Station and U.S. Highway 129 locations.

Erin Barger is Executive Director of the Food Bank. She says the Stuff the Truck event is the kickoff for the food banks’ annual two-week long competition, The Hunger Bowl. Barger says events like these can make an impact in the battle to fight hunger.
The food bank serves 14 counties in northeast Georgia.
