Woman Arrested for Bomb Threat Against Athens Democratic Campaign Office

An Elberton woman has been arrested for making a bomb threat against the ACC Democratic Campaign office. The Athens-Clarke County Police Depaerment confirms 35-year old Jessica Higginbotham was arrested after a staff member stated that she received a text message threatening to blow off the office. Commissioner Tim Denson says Higginbotham was employed office as security.

The situation remains under investigation, however police are considering the possibility that Higginbotham may be involved in the burglary and ransacking of the campaign office last month.
Higginbotham was charged with felony Terroristic Threats and Acts and she taken to the Athens-Clarke County Jail.
