Eric Atkinson, currently Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, has been selected as the next Dean of Students at the University of Georgia.
His current administrative duties will be united with his new responsibilities as part of a newly enhanced student support and engagement portfolio for the Dean of Students. Atkinson will directly supervise University Housing and two associate deans.
Atkinson graduated from UGA with a master’s and doctoral degrees in student affairs leadership. He has held numerous positions in UGA’s Division of Student Affairs since 1999, serving as Assistant Vice President beginning in 2013, and as Associate Vice President since 2015. He will assume the role of Dean of Students March 1.
