Clarke School Board to Fill Vacant District 2 Seat

The Clarke County Board of Education will interview candidates to fill the District 2 board seat at Thursday’s BOE meeting. Three candidates have submitted applications to fill the seat vacated by former board member Kirrena Gallagher last month. The candidates are Mary Bagby, Claudia Butts, and Antwon Stephens. Kirrena Gallagher left the board to enter the race to fill the District 2 Commission seat vacated by former

Athens-Clarke County Commissioner Mariah Parker. She will face former ACC Commissioner Melissa Link in a March 21st Special Election.

The board will appoint a replacement, according to state law. For more information, or to view the full meeting agenda, visit the district website.
