Classic Center to Host Dancing With the Athens Stars 2023

Dancing with the Athens Stars is back this weekend. The annual fundraiser for nonprofit Project Safe features local celebrities who pair up with professional dance instructors to compete for awards. in support of the organization’s mission of ending domestic violence. 

Joan Prittie is executive director of Project Safe. She says the event has raised more than $1.5 million to support survivors of domestic violence.
Dancing with the Athens Stars is Saturday March 18th at the Classic Center. This year’s MCs are Mayor Kelly Girtz and Andrea Griffith-Girtz. Visit project-safe.org for more information.  

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
