ACC Solicitor General to Hold Record Restriction Event

Eligible Athens-Clarke County residents may be able to restrict their criminal records from public view. The Athens-Clarke County Solicitor General’s Office is holding a free record restriction event on April 15th. Solicitor General Will Fleenor says state legislators changed provisions for restrictions in 2013 and now when cases are dismissed, they are now restricted automatically, but that’s not the case for older incidents.
There are cases where some type of convictions can be restricted.

To be eligible, arrests must have been in Clarke County, by the ACCPD, Clarke Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, or UGA Police.

Residents interested in participating must pre-register by March 20th.
