The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation has donated $1 million to the University of Georgia this month to support the university’s Fontaine Center.
The Fontaine Center offers programs focused on prevention, early intervention and recovery support for issues related to drug and alcohol abuse as well as programs related to relationships and sexual violence prevention and advocacy.
Funding from the Blank Family Foundation will enhance the center’s programs as well as their Collegiate Recovery Community, which provides support for students in recovery, and runs a 24-hour support hotline.
Jack and Nancy Fontaine created the Fontaine Center in 2006 in memory of their son, John, who was killed in 2000 when a car driven by an intoxicated friend struck a tree. Jack said his family is “exceptionally grateful” for the Blank Family Foundation’s support of student well-being and safety.
