Today, Governor Brian Kemp announced that 1,700 new jobs are coming to Athens-Clarke County. The Meissner Corporation will invest nearly $250 million in a new facility located in Winterville.
The Meissner Corporation is one of the world’s largest privately held companies in the bioprocessing sector; known for developing, manufacturing and supplying products for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.
The company played a leading role in the industry’s response to COVID-19 by producing single-use systems that are critical components used in vaccine manufacturing.
The new facility will be located at the Christian Industrial Tract, at 1310 Spring Valley Road. The company will be hiring a broad range of roles from technicians to engineers to administrative assistants.
Operations are expected to begin in early 2026.
