Businesses failing to post information on human trafficking will face increased fines pending Gov. Brian Kemp’s signature on a new state Senate bill.

Kemp plans to sign the bill, SB 42, following Tuesday’s meeting of the Georgians for Refuge, Action, Compassion, and Education Commission (GRACE), led by First Lady Marty Kemp. The bill increases the initial fine on businesses who neglect to post the human trafficking hotline in their place of operation and online from under $500 to $500-$1000. Subsequent fines will be increased from a maximum of $1000 to $1,000-$5,000.
