U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock is scheduled to visit Athens Thursday. During his Athens trip, the Senator will meet with local farmers and discuss his priorities for Georgia in the 2023 Farm Bill currently being drafted. Warnock, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, will survey available technology and then take part in a roundtable discussion with farmers focusing on the challenges they face and how modernizing agriculture technologies can help support Georgia’s farmers and economy.
He will also mention his recently introduced Promoting Precision Agriculture Act, legislation he’s working to include in the 2023 Farm Bill which would share data about technologies to help farmers operate more effectively and efficiently. Additional details will be released before the event.
