Five CCSD students selected for competitive Governor's Honors Program

Clarke County School District

Five students in the Clarke County School District were selected to attend the 2023 Governor’s Honors Program (GHP), a summer program for gifted and talented high school students in the state.

The students invited from Clarke Central High School were Sekou Sesay, Anna Shaikun, and Max Van Wagtendonk. Eva Lucero and Delia McElhannon were invited from Cedar Shoals High School.

Isabelle Duncan and Will Simpson, students at Clarke Central High School, were named as alternates from the program.

These students will receive instruction in the areas of visual and communicative arts, engineering, agricultural research, biotechnology, and science.

This year’s program will take place at Georgia Southern University from June 18 to July 15.
