Unemployment ticks up in Athens-Clarke County

Unemployment is up slightly in the Athens area.

According to the latest figures from the Georgia Department of Labor, the county’s unemployment rate in March was 3.2 percent, up one-tenth of one percent from February and up three-tenths of a percent from March 2022.

Athens ended March with 101,100 jobs, an all-time high. That number increased by 900 from February to March and increased by 5,300 when compared to this time last year.
