May is National Maternal Mental Health Month and the national nonprofit organization Postpartum Support International is working to bring awareness to postpartum depression and other perinatal mental health disorders. PSI Executive Director Wendy Davis says about 800,000 thousand people are affected every year.

Davis says her organization is part of an effort of improve PMH disorder awareness and access to support and care while reducing the stigma around perinatal mental health disorders. She wants mothers to know help is available.

For support, information, or resources, call the PSI hotline at 800-944-4773, or visit postpartum.net.
