Athens-Clarke County Police continue to investigate two separate, non-fatal shootings that occurred in Athens over the weekend.
ACCPD first responded to a call from Coleridge Court for a discharging firearm on Friday at 6:00 P.M. A female victim then called 911 about sustaining a gunshot wound to her ankle, which police determined was connected to the Coleridge Court firearm call.
Hours later, ACCPD responded to another unrelated discharging firearm call at Thumpa Avenue on Saturday morning at approximately 12:05 A.M. After the call, police were notified that a 32-year-old male arrived at a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and determined that his injuries were connected to the Thumpa Avenue incident.
