Park improvements are among the list of SPLOST projects that the Athens-Clarke County Commission is set to discuss at their meeting tonight.
Sandy Creek Park is on the list for an upgrade, which includes a playground replacement and updates to the Visitor’s Center, campground and restrooms. These projects are a part of an ongoing series of renovations to the park funded by SPLOST 2011, the first of which was finished in 2016.
Bishop Park is home to the county’s largest Leisure Services pool, and will see improvements that may include an adjacent pavilion, a pool house and a new splash pad funded by SPLOST 2020.
The commission will vote on authorizing the use of these funds at their next regular meeting.
