Athens Regional Library to Host Blood Drive

The Athens Regional Library is hosting a blood drive Tuesday, July 25th from 2 to 6 pm. There is a critical need for blood donors, especially those with type O blood. This is the first blood drive at the library since the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and/or platelets, and approximately 29,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day. Gretchen Elm is an Information Services Librarian at the facility reiterates emphasizes
