FC-CIS to Host Gang Awareness Presentation

Family Connection Communities in Schools Athens, in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies, is hosting a gang awareness presentation Wednesday from 9 am until noon. The event is aimed at raising awareness among youth about gangs and helping children and families learn what to look out for.

The Raising Awareness/Making Wise Choices presentation will feature speakers from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, and Clarke County School District Police who will address community concerns during a question and answer session.

The free event will be held at the Aaron Heard Community Center, formerly the East Athens Community Center. Lunch will be provided.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
