New voting precincts and changes to some polling locations may be coming to Athens Clarke County in time for the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary elections, according to a recent statement from the ACC Board of Elections.

Proposed changes include adjusting boundary lines for all voting precincts, moving six election-day polling locations, and adding one new polling location. The Board of Election determined through multiple work sessions and public hearings that the changes were needed due to redevelopment, voting space, and parking challenges.

Resident’s voting districts would not change as part of the process- only the location at which some voters would vote in person on election day.

Maps of the updated precinct boundaries and proposed polling locations can be found at www.accgov.com/elections. Any objections to the adjustments can be filed with the Board of Elections Prior to September 12.
