Athens Neighborhood Health Center Giving Away Supplies at Back-2-School Event

Athens students and their families are invited to an annual Back-2-School event sponsored by the Athens Neighborhood Health Center.

In addition to traditional school supplies, like backpacks and paper, organizers will also provide hand sanitizer, tissues, and other items on the CCSD’s list.

The Back-2-School event takes place Saturday, August 12 from 10 am to 1 pm at the Aaron Heard Community Center, formerly known as the East Athens Community Center. Food, ice cream, and more will be provided.

The event is open to the community and last year around 700 people attended.

Jennifer Richardson is Director of Marketing an Outreach with the organization. She says it’s part of National Health Center Week. She spoke with WUGA about the upcoming event.
