A $10,000 grant to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia will provide thousands of meals. The facility was nominated by Jackson EMC through the CoBank Sharing Success Program. Erin Barger is the President and CEO of the food bank.
She says the facility appreciates all donations, but financial contributions allow the food bank to utilize more options. The food bank can purchase three meals for every dollar donated.
The food bank serves 65,000 residents a 14-county area in northeast Georgia. The agency was eligible for the grant due to a $50,000 donation from Jackson EMC in 2022.
CoBank is a national cooperative bank serving industries and utilities in rural areas of all 50 states.
