Thousands of attendees are expected to converge on Athens this week for the first large convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 2019. The Classic Center will host the group, while there have been smaller gatherings held in Athens, this is the first time the organization has held the large convention in the Classic City. Ben Coarde is a local spokesman with the Jehovah witnesses in Georgia.
He says this year Jehovah’s witnesses are holding over 6,000 conventions worldwide, with more than 700 in the U.S., and in more 500 languages.
The convention runs from Friday, August 18th through Sunday, August 20th. The event is free and open to members of the community. This year’s theme is “Exercise Patience.”
