Forbes has released a state-by-state list of the nation's best employers. The 70,000 workers surveyed were asked if they would recommend their employer to others, and to evaluate their employer based on working conditions, diversity, compensation, potential for development, and company image.

In Georgia, Delta Air Lines ranked first. Among the state's universities, Emory ranked 10th, Georgia Tech 20th, Georgia State 24th, and UGA 35. Piedmont Health Care with facilities in Athens ranked 21st, and Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville at 60th. And Athens-based restaurant chain Zaxbys at 85th. A total of 1,392 employers were ranked on the list.
