University System of Georgia investigates data security breach

European Institute for Gender Equality

The University System of Georgia says it is continuing its investigation into a security breach that allowed access to the data of some students, faculty, and staff. According to a statement from the USG, that information could include, but is not limited to social security numbers, names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and salary and benefit information.

The data was accessed through a vulnerability in the MOVEit software used to handle the information. Customers worldwide were affected by similar breaches. The USG will individually notify those affected and provide assistance.
