The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating the 13th fatal vehicle crash this year.
Officers responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The driver, 27-year-old Brandon Tolbert from Oakwood, was pronounced deceased after receiving medical care at a local hospital.
The preliminary investigation indicates Tolbert struck a curb in a wood chipper truck near the intersection of Lexington Road at Oak Drive. Another fatal crash occurred at this location earlier this year.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them to aid in the ongoing investigation.
