In November, Winterville voters will vote on mayor and council seats, and Athens-Clarke County voters will vote on the Clerk of Superior Court. People will have until Oct. 10, 2023, to register to vote.
The Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections began testing of voting machines that will be used in the upcoming election on Wednesday. The Logic and Accuracy Test is at the Athens-Clarke County Facilities and Landscape Management Building on Lexington Road. The testing is open to the public.
Absentee ballot applications are being accepted for the November election. To get an application, people can contact the elections office, complete the application on accgov.com or visit their Georgia My Voter Page. The last day to apply for an absentee ballot is Oct. 27, 2023, and mailing will begin on Oct. 16, 2023.
Early voting for the election will begin at 8 a.m. on Oct. 16, 2023, at the Elections office in Athens.
