The University of Georgia Athletic Department announced former NFL senior executive Steven Drummond as their new Executive Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications on September 18.
Drummond previously worked as communications coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars and in a number of roles for the Carolina Panthers for nearly two decades. He concluded his time with the Panthers as their vice president of football operations. Drummond’s role will oversee the execution of all internal and external communications strategy for UGA’s 21 varsity sports.
“I am truly humbled and honored to join the University of Georgia Athletic Department,” Drummond said in a statement from the UGA athletic department.
“President Morehead, Josh Brooks, and Darrice Griffin have a clear vision for building championship programs and providing elite student-athlete experiences in this time of rapid change in intercollegiate sports. My family and I can’t wait to join the Bulldog family.”
