Early voting in the Athens-Clarke County special Clerk of Superior Court election begins today and will extend through Election Day on November 7th. Interim Clerk of Court Elisa (Alyssa) Zarate will run against senior deputy clerk Andrew Griffith to complete the term of the previous clerk who retired in May.
City of Winterville residents can also vote on three city council seats. Tina Mills will run unopposed to fill the unexpired seat of council member Timothy Pierce-Tomlin, who resigned this year. Four candidates will run for the two other full-term seats.
Those who wish to vote early can vote from 8 am to 5 pm every weekday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturdays at the Athens Clarke County Board of Elections office. Additional advance voting locations at the ACC Library and the Winterville Train Depot will begin at the end of October.
