Georgia will receive over $80 million to help residents with energy costs.
Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock announced Thursday that Georgia was awarded nearly $84 million in federal funding to help low-income households with their energy needs. The funding will pay home heating and cooling bills, prevent energy shutoffs, restore services, make energy-related home repairs, and weatherize homes to make them more energy efficient.

Eligibility for the funding is based on income, family size, and availability of resources. The bulk of the funds, some $79.8 million comes from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program(LIHEAP), while the remainder comes from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
