The Athens-Clarke County Police Department seized four handguns and an AR-15 during an arrest on Nov. 22 at approximately 1:09 p.m. The ACCPD found the firearms after a search of suspects Demetrius Collins, 18, and Marcus Dowdy, 22, and the residence. The pair were arrested near the 100 block of Parkview Homes.
Collins was charged with theft by receiving stolen property and obstruction. Dowdy was arrested for possession of a machine gun, tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana, less than an ounce.
