More companies are finding it difficult to hire skilled employees, pressuring employers to rethink their hiring strategies.

In 2021, the Athens-Clarke County Government was awarded over six million dollars by the American Rescue Plan Act, or ARPA, to be spent on workforce development and the reduction of homelessness. On January 2nd, the Commission voted on a proposal for how some of this money will be spent. Commissioner Dexter Fisher, who represents District 5, sat down with us earlier this week to discuss the ARPA funding and its allocation.
