State Democrats issued their response to Governor Brian Kemp’s State of the State Address Thursday morning, with House Minority Leader James Beverly delivering that response.
While Kemp proposed a 4% raise for state employees, Beverly called the state’s massive surplus, a failure. He says state Republican leaders should invest more funds in Georgia families, small businesses, health care facilities, schools, mental health resources, and more.
Among the issues the Democratic response focused on was a call to expand Medicaid, gun control measures, and more investment in public education. Beverly opposed a school voucher program which Kemp supported.
