University of Georgia

Athens-Clarke County residents have an opportunity to gain insight into tenant rights and fair housing practices through two upcoming events.

On April 9, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, the ACC Main Library Auditorium at 2025 Baxter St. will host Chad McCranie, Senior Staff Attorney for Georgia Legal Services Program. McCranie will delve into the intricacies of tenant rights and landlord responsibilities, offering crucial information for both renters and property owners.

Following this, on April 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Gail L. Williams, Executive Director of Metro Fair Housing Services, Inc., will lead a Lunch & Learn session at the same venue. Williams will address fair housing rights and highlight illegal practices by housing providers.

Carry-out lunch will be available for attendees. Residents are encouraged to RSVP for the Lunch & Learn event by contacting the Housing and Community Development Office or emailing Andrea.Livingston@accgov.com.
