Athens Community Career Academy to Offer Summer Pathway Camps to Rising Ninth-graders

Athens Community Career Academy

As the academic year draws to a close, the Athens Community Career Academy is gearing up to host a series of educational summer enrichment camps. Designed for rising ninth-graders, these weeklong camps aim to provide a sneak peek into the educational pathways available at ACCA yearlong.

Located at the ACCA campus on 440-1 Dearing Extension in Athens, these camps will offer participants a hands-on experience within six pathways including Advanced Manufacturing, Cosmetology Basics, Culinary Arts, Healthcare, Teaching and Film. The program is intended to introduce incoming ninth-graders to pathways they'll be able to apply for and start taking classes starting in 10th grade.

The Athens Community Career Academy, established in 2011, offers high school students in the Clarke County School District career-focused, college-level courses at no cost through a partnership with Athens Technical College. The academy provides state-of-the-art facilities including labs and a student center to provide students with opportunities to achieve educational and career goals while meeting local workforce needs.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost to campers, and transportation will also be available. Sign up by April 22 at bit.ly/accasummer9.
