Athens-Clarke County Commissioners will nail down the details of the county's proposed budget in their upcoming meeting next week.

The $300 million dollar spending plan will include $193 million in general fund spending. In addition to the measure proposed by Mayor Kelly Girtz, commissioners will also consider a budget put forth by Commissioners Jesse Houle, Dexter Fisher, and Mike Hamby. One consideration their plan presents is $700,000 dollars to fund the “effects” of the new collective bargaining agreement with ACC firefighters. Houle discussed those effects with WUGA.
